Earl Frost discovered his talent for music thanks to the support that others showed in him. In this audio clip, he shares what he has learned about faith.
[Interviewer] What have you learned about faith that you want other people to know?
[Earl Frost] [laughter] Yeah, now. I think that faith is rewarding, sometimes it can be trying, and sometimes it can be good; it can be bad. But I’ve found that basically, if you have faith in people and trust in people, I think faith—I think trust comes along with faith. And if you have faith in a person or in what you do, then you work diligently in making it work. And I’ve found out that if you have faith, you can go longer than ordinary. If people turn you down, you can say, ‘I’m gonna try again. They couldn’t mean just no.’ Or, ‘I’m gonna try better to do this ‘cuz I know I can do it one way or the other.’ And then you put your mind to it. And I think that really faith is something that you have to have in yourself because if you have faith in yourself, then you can have it in others. And when people fail you in doing things, you have the faith that turns into hope. I’m the type of person that you can’t stop me. I know I’ve got faith. I’m gonna do that. So my faith in me has helped, my faith in Christ, because I know it all comes from him. I’ve seen myself strengthened in so many ways. When I reach out to get things, sometimes I even say a prayer before I do, and it helps. So I think faith is 99% of the battle.
